UEFA Backs Gianni Infantino Candidate In FIFA President Race
UEFA has unanimously endorsed Gianni Infantino’s candidacy for that FIFA presidency at next month’s elections.
Infantino joined the race to exchange the suspended Sepp Blatter in October and also the UEFA general secretary continues to be the widely used to secure his federation’s nomination since president Michel Platini was provisionally suspended all football activities alongside Blatter earlier that month.

An announcement from UEFA read: “Following conferences at home of European Football in Nyon, the UEFA Executive Committee want to affirm that people unanimously endorse Gianni Infantino’s candidacy for that FIFA presidency.
“UEFA’s national associations also overwhelmingly expressed their support for Gianni and can formally announce their individual positions in the end, respecting their internal formal procedures.
“Gianni Infantino joined the presidential race for football’s world governing body on 26 October 2015, using the backing from the UEFA Executive Committee, and we’re certain he’s the best man to consider FIFA forward now.”
Infantino will contest the election against Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, Jerome Champagne, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa and Tokyo, japan Sexwale in Zurich on Feb 26.
